Hi! My name is Laura. I am an ordinary woman in my 40’s with a happy marriage and two almost-grown children. More importantly than all that, I am a daughter of the King who desires nothing more than to help other women know that they, too are daughters of the King. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever believe that God would lead me to women’s ministry, but He somehow has. This blog is the beginning of something that has been on my heart for months. The creation of a place where women can feel secure in their place as treasured daughters of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. As a Mississippi girl by birth, magnolias hold a deep place in my life. As I began to pray about a name for this idea I had been given, Wild Magnolia Collective came about. As I researched the meanings behind the words, I truly understood why it had to be named that.
The name Wild Magnolia carries deep spiritual and symbolic meaning.
- “Wild” represents the untamed, unboxed, unfiltered journey of women who are reclaiming their faith outside rigid systems. It honors the courage to break away from a culture of toxic religion and the freedom to follow Jesus authentically—on wild, sometimes unfamiliar paths.
- “Magnolia” is a symbol of strength, beauty, and resilience. The magnolia tree blooms boldly, often in unpredictable seasons and harsh soil—just like women. Its blossoms are striking yet soft, strong yet deeply rooted—reminding us that femininity and faith can be both fierce and gentle.
Together, Wild Magnolia speaks to the beauty of women growing in wild places—outside the expected, outside the polished, outside the pews. It is a declaration that God’s presence isn’t confined to buildings or tradition. His Spirit moves in wild things, and His daughters bloom even in the wilderness.
We are not meant to live life by ourselves. We are meant to live life in a community of other believers. However, many times women’s ministries feel like a place of ostracism rather than a place of belonging. Wild Magnolias is to be a place where women can feel that community. A place where women can be their true selves with other believers and learn to live a life of relationship with God. A life of Shalom. Welcome to the collective.
